Childrens dental
- We take great pride in providing a personalised approach for our little patients. Beth has extensive experience treating children of all ages, and has special interest in a holistic approach to childrens dental and oro-facial development.
THE FIRST DENTAL VISIT
The thought of a child's first dental visit can be anxiety inducing for children and parents alike. The first oral health check should occur around the time their first tooth appears in their mouth or at 1 year of age, whichever comes first. This may seem very early, but it allows us to screen for their tooth decay risk and discuss factors that may contribite long term. Don't worry if this first visit is later for your child; however the earlier, the better.
Establishing a ‘dental home’ and building a relationship with a provider early helps your child to become comfortable in the clinic and creates a trusting relationship with us, which makes all the difference as they grow older.
MEDICARE CHILD DENTAL BENEFIT (CDBS)
If your child is aged between 0 and17 years, they may be eligible for the Medicare Child Dental Benefit. This government funded scheme will fund most general dental treatment like examinations, x-rays, fillings, fissure sealants, stainless steel crowns extractions etc, up to $1056 over a two year period. There is usually no out of pocket expense for eligible treatments as the costs are Bulk Billed to Medicare by us. You can check your child's eligibility through MyGov, or phone us and we can check for you.
